Happy 10th Birthday To My Only Girl

September 21st, 2007 by Shosh aka Midas

I cannot believe it is ten years ago already when I gave birth to my first child. It was a very easy pregnancy. The only thing hard about it is the interrupted sleep I have because I was also finished my Biochemistry Degree and taking MCATs exams.

I remember hoping for a weekend labor so my husband would be there with me. I sure got what I asked for. Promptly at 5 AM Friday, I started having contractions, and my daughter was born after 6 PM Sunday night. I got my weekend labor for sure! The whole weekend! I remember being so tired…but when I got her in my arms, all 7.8 pounds of her, it’s like a ray of light and a dose of new batteries. Everything else was forgotten except for holding her in my arms.

Naa man untay slideshow diri. Dili man mogawas. Pindota nalang nang “View show” nga butones. Medyo gali pa gyod ko aning wordpress.

It’s been an awesome ten years. Chana started writing and painting at 2 years old. She walked and pushed her own stroller at 9 months. She loves mirrors and I remember her practicing all kinds of expressions in front of one. She’d stay up with me as I do my homework. She’d sit next to me as I gave in to my craving of reading my novels after I finished my school work. Just us girls in the wee hours of the morning!

She’s is such a joy. She’s into cooking, piano, dancing, singing, writing, and all kinds of other fun things. She’s also most helpful even when no one’s asking. I am so glad she’s my daughter. She’s an honor student, A student, but most of all, she’s an A+-person. My husband and I are very proud of her.
